Pacifica Synod -ELCA Announces  
Haiti Relief Efforts    Bishop Murray Finck and the Pacifica Synod staff encourage each congregation to respond as you are able to the Earthquake disaster in Haiti. 100% of funds donated through the ELCA International Disaster Response will be used for the relief efforts in Haiti. The following information will assist you in responding in the most timely ways.
 
ELCA International Disaster Response announced it will immediately commit $250,000 to support response efforts to the earthquake in Haiti. It will also advance another $500,000 in anticipation of additional gifts from ELCA members. ELCA members can contribute gifts online at http://www.ELCA.org/haitiearthquake

Youth Ministry Begins!
We are delighted that Brenden and Alane Condet have joined our staff as our Youth Ministers.  While they are doing the planning and organizing, we all are still needed to get involved with our youth, whether it be through participating in events, welcoming them at worship, and/or supporting this ministry financially.  We are looking for those who are willing to pledge a week ($100), a half-week ($50), or even one day ($14.29) to this ministry.  If you’re interested, please see the sign-up in the narthex.

If you are looking for a church family, we are very glad you found our website and hope you will worship with us on the beach or in our sanctuary soon and often.  Beach Church is every Sunday at 8 a.m. on North Beach in San Clemente, barring rain.  This is an informal service.  Come as you are!  Sit on the beach, wave at the train, sing and praise the Lord!  Church in our light-filled, welcoming sanctuary on Camino Capistrano is at 10:30 a.m.  We have Sunday School at both services and child care at the 10:30 service.    If you already worship with us and have just found our website, welcome to Cyber CLC!  We would love to have you contribute photos and comments to the website.  Please send your photos and ideas to our webmaster at lindahardyabc@sbcglobal.net.

Christ Is Alive! Experience His energy in 6-year-old Emily, bounding up the aisle for the children's sermon. Feel the warmth of His embrace in Jim's arms, enfolding you as Christ's peace is shared. Witness His faithfulness in Rose, making her way slowly and painfully to receive communion. Encounter His awesome presence, sharing Christ's message of unconditional, all consuming love and forgiveness.

Whether on the beach or in the church, you are sure to meet Christ every Sunday you worship with Christ Lutheran Congregation of San Clemente. North Beach, at the foot of Avenida Pico, the site of our 8:00 a.m. worship celebration. In the midst of God's incredible creation, we offer ourselves to Him through song, prayer and reflection, and receive hearts filled with freedom and release. As wave after wave washes onto the shore and back into the sea, so God's love washes over us, in a continuous flow of forgiveness and renewal.

The setting of our 10:30 a.m. worship festival is in the sanctuary of Christ Lutheran Church. Although the format is much the same as Beach Church, the vibrancy of stained glass, the soft glow of candles, and the welcoming arms of Christ the Shepherd, all provide a warm and intimate place to encounter Jesus.
