Definition of EA:

Enterprise Architecture is the process of translating business vision and strategy into effective information technology services. The intent of the Enterprise Architecture is to provide direction and regulation to change projects to ensure the reliability, interoperability and sustainability of systems. The value of Enterprise Architecture is realized through the creation and compliance with standards and guidelines.

 


EA Process Model and Architecture Effort                                                     From Gartner

This is the process model that is used to create its enterprise architecture. The creation process is an organized method of defining the EA deliverables in a way that ensures alignment between the enterprises strategy and the future state architecture.
The EA process includes the creation of the following components:

  • Common Requirements Vision: The Business requirements.

  • Guiding EA Principles

  • Future State Models

  • Current State Model

  • A gap analysis

  • A road map defining the steps that should be taken to evolve the current state into the future state
